If I knew how easy and delightful it was to keep chooks I would’ve started decades ago! Miss Prissy and Betsy settled very quickly and comfortably into their Wentworth apartment which complements my garden perfectly. They happily share the nesting box, laying one egg each most days. Plenty for me and some to share. (I’ll never revert to buying shop eggs.)
I use sugarcane mulch to line their penthouse which makes it so quick and easy to clean each morning. The unit is light enough for me to move to a fresh patch every second morning. Voila! No fleas, no pooh pong, and the garden loves it.
The girls are great company and hilarious entertainment value - especially with the grandchildren. The chooks are loving their new Macquarie Night Ark so much that they don’t want to leave it! They spend a good amount of the day snoozing in it with their heads out the doorway, and as soon as it gets dusk they happily troop straight in with no coaxing. I am really happy with the Ark too as not only does it look lovely in my small cottage garden, but it only takes a minute to clean. Thanks for everything Francis.

"We bought our Ark from you several months ago now and we wanted to tell you how happy we are with it. We arrived home in one piece to Canada Bay complete with Ark and three hens. "Just to let you know that the girls are well and happy and have started laying eggs - as I predicted they laid the first one whilst at my parents place when I went away!! I have attached a photo of the ark on my car's roofracks - used 2 ratchet straps and occi straps and it survived the journey from Cremorne to Turramurra and back with ease - although obviously didn't go more than 
60kph.
"I have also attached a photo of the girls' final set up in the back yard - I put in an interconnecting wire tunnel from the ark to the meshed area (it is actually meant to be a dog kennel) and Maggie and Frannie seem very happy going from one to the other. "I wanted to keep a few chooks in the backyard to help recycle kitchen waste and get a supply of eggs but I also wanted a coop that would look 
great and fit into a bushland setting garden. I wasn't keen on the metal - industrial looking coops available at the local hardware and produce shops so I was really pleased to find what I wanted at the Mountain Arks website.

"Having now had the ark for some four months I would add the following positive footnote: The chooks are happy to spend more time in the ark, even with the door open, than they did in the previous metal enclosure. We were surprised just how willing they were to make the journey to the attic level. In fact, once in there, it takes some coercion to get them out! It is clearly apparent the ark environment is good for them.
"Also, we find it so convenient to be able to collect the eggs and clean the cage without having to walk through chook droppings as in a conventional enclosure. The fact we can move the cage around the backyard helps eliminates grass fatigue. All in all, a well designed product that is also practical. It hardly needs any Boiled Linseed/Turps treatment yet, it looks as good as the day we bought it."

Hi Francis, I thought I would email you a picture of my hutch in its new home. I ended up getting 2 Australorps and 2 Rhode Island Reds. The girls love the hutch and seem to be spending more time in it than out. I've found it so easy to clean out it only takes 5 minutes so it couldn't be easier. Thank you so much for your advice and your hospitality, I will definitely recommend Mountain Arks to all my friends.
